Hello Drew,
Thank you for the help in advance :-) I’m running AIM 6.9 (I believe) the problem is simple the fix (I’m sure) isn’t :-( The problem: the stock plugin is not showing anything going by:-( I add a symbol and it says it’s there :-( However nithing is visable :-( I’m running that most updated Flash 10.xx version and Windows 7 64 Bit (this also happens in Vista premium as well (now updated to Win-7) I run a laptop (Dell B-120 with win-xp home 32 bit) the very same version of AIM works fine :-) With all this when I frist ran AIM 6.9 it raun with no problem and I’ve no idea what (if anything) changed :-( I’n done most of what You’ve suggested to others with no success :-( Again, thank you in advance and hope to hear from you soon,

all of a sudden i was unable to sign on using the aim program with the screen name “wadafack” however i can log on using a different screen name “inN0cent Boy” i also can log on “wadafack” using aim express, i’ve tried using the latest aim version and the same problem occurs, if you can help me resolve the issue that’d be great thanks

Are you still having issues?

Can you tell me why I can log into aim on the computer, but everytime i try to log in from my blackberry, it tells me invalid screen name or password.

This could either be due to your internet connection through your phone providor or the BlackBerry AIM application is having issues.

Can you tell me why I can log into aim on the computer, but everytime i try to log in from my blackberry, it tells me invalid screen name or password. I cant figure out why the same name and password work on the computer but will not go through on my phone.

Please help.

Justin,

If you are using AIM Express, that is a web-based application, and that is beyond anyone’s control, except AOL/AIM. You should check the internet connection of your laptop and/or wait for AIM to resolve the issue, if it is on their end. Try contacting them if you have any issues with AIM Express.

i have similar problems with pidgin ,on yahoo. it always says

invalid screenname ? but my other messengers on pidgin works fine ? except yahoo ?

Looks like you have a corrupt version of AIM. Try reinstalling.

I have this one friend on AIM, and lately when I have been trying to IM him, it doesn’t bring up the box or let me IM him, and the same happens when he tries to IM me. It comes up for him, but it doesn’t come up for me.

it still has the same problem…and i dont like how the older AIM works…

Then upgrade to the new AIM. I like the older AIM over the new one. Then again, I don’t like either. I’d switch to something else, such as Pidgin (free) or Trillian ($25/year).

I downloaded new AIM 6.5 a few weeks ago, but my mom didnt know. she attempted to download it also but eventually canceld it when it started asking questions she didn’t know how to answer :) ever since our AIM just comes up with “Invalid AIM Server Address” every time we try to log on.

I have tried uninstalling and deleting everything that has to do with AIM and reinstalling it but nothing is working!.. (and yes my internet is working fine) I dont know what to do??

Sounds like you’ve covered it. I don’t know what it could be. I guess you could try uninstalling, then reboot the computer, then reinstall once more. Make sure when you reboot that there are absolutely no AIM installs left on the system.

Had version 5.9.3861. Upgraded to 6. Did not like it so uninstalled it.
Now I get the cannot be reached and upon exiting get there is a problem with aol and it will now close.
Also, since uninstalling v 6.1 my buddy icon does not show up. I get a blank white square

This sounds like application corruption. Uninstall the program completely, reboot the computer, then reinstall the program.

I have two different screennames.. i can sign in on one of them but the other one i cannot sign in ..it says there is a database error. how can i fix this?

I’ve never actually seen this error. I found this thread on the AIM forums:

I would try posting and bumping up that post to see if other people are having the same problems.
