"Personal thoughts, ramblings, and nonsense from Drew, himself."

DeckerD finally a reality.

Well finally I have released my personal website. I actually had written up another design concept and was going with it for the longest time. The problem was that I really didn’t like it as much as I originally had. It was good, but it didn’t meet my standards. I’m very critical of my very own work, and if it doesn’t look good to me, then how is anyone else going to like it? My concept to everything, yet it has its good and bad side. The good side goes to show that anything I come out with is very professional looking and people respect me for my web design work. The bad falls within my own will to not release something, because I think it isn’t as good as it should be, therefor limiting myself. Overall, though, I believe I did a good job in not releasing the other version of the site, just because this version really hit it on the spot. So, I give myself a pat on the back and start on another website (to be announced later).

Discussion always soothes thy heart.

This has to do with memory on your Windows XP system. Have you tried Hibernating or putting your system into standby after upgrading your RAM? If you have, keep on reading. More...

Curing 'Symbolic link not allowed' (Apache 2.0)
Awhile back when trying to add a directory to Apache on my Ubuntu 6.06 LTS server, I ran into some issues. These issues, of course were the infamous 403 “Forbidden” error that your web barfs up when you try to access a server that is not publicly viewable, because of permission issues. I’m going to give you my scenario and explain how you can fix this issue, so that you don’t have to go through an hour of throwing your hands up in disgust. More...
