ITToolBox Welcomes Me

I don’t really get recognized for much, but when I do it’s my acomplishments that keep me going. I don’t feel like I need to be recognized for the work I love to contribute to, but when I do, I am overwhelmed. Another day, another acomplishment, just doing what I enjoy. Database Crisis

DeckerD almost died. Read on. Continue reading Database Crisis

Something new…

New additions will take place at DeckerD. I will be adding more functionality, in my opinion. Something to make you want to come back (I hope!). I want to create a favorite section of some sort, photos section for my personal touch, and have been really thinking about a “Mini-Blog”. This way all the “technical” articles can be straight forward, and the “Mini-Blog” is more of a journal of some sort. Continue reading Something new…

February come and gone…

Well, February was here, and now it’s gone in what seems like no time. I was planning on writting a few things for this month, but was never able to finish them. Hopefully I am able to do more this month. February was the end of a contract job working at Cadbury Schweppes, and the start of a new job over at IBM.

I have a few surprises, and some pictures will be added to the site! Hopefully I can get this all in the small month of March. Until then, I’ll be busy as you know what.

Happy Birthday To Me…

I’m 19 today. Happy Birthday to me…I guess.

Backend Additions/Upgrades

Backend updates can be very interesting, and depending on what you are doing, extremely tedious. This was the case with DeckerD, very tedious. How so? We’ll I was at school when I did this. I had nothing else to do at the time, since I was between labs and lunch. The fact of the matter is, I use Wordpress as my backend and the new version, 2.0, was a major upgrade, so I had to just delete files and transfer the new files to the server. Let’s just say, I never got that lunch break. Continue reading Backend Additions/Upgrades

A New Design, A New Plan

First off, things happen for a reason; they just do. Accept it. You know what I’m talking about, when you think you’ve got something thats worth showing off to the world, or maybe just your friends (or dog for that matter), and you realize that the whole time that you believed in yourself that it made no sense whatsoever? Okay, I’ll give you a second to comprehend what I just said. This has happened to me, for the first time in my life. Continue reading A New Design, A New Plan

DeckerD finally a reality.

Well finally I have released my personal website. I actually had written up another design concept and was going with it for the longest time. The problem was that I really didn’t like it as much as I originally had. It was good, but it didn’t meet my standards. I’m very critical of my very own work, and if it doesn’t look good to me, then how is anyone else going to like it? My concept to everything, yet it has its good and bad side. The good side goes to show that anything I come out with is very professional looking and people respect me for my web design work. The bad falls within my own will to not release something, because I think it isn’t as good as it should be, therefor limiting myself. Overall, though, I believe I did a good job in not releasing the other version of the site, just because this version really hit it on the spot. So, I give myself a pat on the back and start on another website (to be announced later).

Windows Fix: "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API"
Ugh. Another Windows error. Another Windows error that really doesn’t tell you what is really wrong; some (most) people aren’t nerds. Don’t worry, I’ve got your fix right here. This has to do with memory on your Windows XP system. Have you tried Hibernating or putting your system into standby after upgrading your RAM? If you have, keep on reading. More...

Curing 'Symbolic link not allowed' (Apache 2.0)
Awhile back when trying to add a directory to Apache on my Ubuntu 6.06 LTS server, I ran into some issues. These issues, of course were the infamous 403 “Forbidden” error that your web barfs up when you try to access a server that is not publicly viewable, because of permission issues. I’m going to give you my scenario and explain how you can fix this issue, so that you don’t have to go through an hour of throwing your hands up in disgust. More...
