"Personal thoughts, ramblings, and nonsense from Drew, himself."
Alright, before I state why I love this song, I do have to say this: I don’t remember where I found this song, but if it offends you that I have it on my website, and you have proof that you own rights to this song, I will remove it – until then…
I found this awesome song called “Code Monkey”! It SO explains my true being (haha). I see myself as 50% code monkey, 50% programmer. My theory is, if someone has shared with the community on how to do something, and I can implement it into my home-grown code, then more power to me. I do find myself more than “once and awhile” doing alot of programming. I tend to use PHP, mySQL (which isn’t programming, but is utilized within the other programming languages – usually PHP), JavaScript, and AJAX (I wouldn’t really call this a programming language – its merely just a few languages combined to create a nice technique); just to name a few. I go through alot of debugging and fixing this bug and adding this feature; trully an ongoing process.
Programming isn’t everything, there’s also the occasional markup, such as XHTML and CSS work I do. When I am referred, I also am hired to do side-projects for web-related projects.
Getting to the point – every programmer – ahem – code monkey – can relate to this song. So, whoever actually wrote and performed this song, BIG PROPS!
Update: This song is by Jonathan Coulton, per a Google search. Awesome stuff!
